One day pattern drafting and sewing workshop where you will create a made to measure take on the Hannah or Iris Shirt

£135 pp

Be part of a small class with step by step guidance from Harriet in her studio.

You will be guided through the process of altering the pattern of one of Harriet’s summer shirts to your design and to fit you perfectly.  Once your fabric is cut out, you will craft your shirt on either an industrial or domestic sewing machine with close guidance and top tips.

This workshop is for experienced sewers, beginners and any stage in between.  Being part of a small group of three, you will receive close guidance and support every step of the way.

All you will need to bring is 1.5m of fabric; either a much loved fabric you’ve been waiting to use or a new fabric that you’ve fallen in love with.  You can also bring your own buttons (if you are opting for a button up design) or use Harriet’s natural shell shirt buttons.

Everything else will be provided.

Lunch is included which will be provided at Depot Bakery, over the road from the studio.

Enjoy your choice of delicious sourdough toasties, home cooked soups and hot drinks

up to the price of £15.

£45 deposit is required upon booking to secure your space on the workshop.

Spaces are limited.

Frequently Asked Question

I have never sewn before, can I be part of the workshop?

Absolutely!

There will be three students per class, this will give me plenty of time to give you my full attention and guide you through the process to create a beautiful shirt.  Hopefully by the end of the day you will have the skills and confidence to go on and keep sewing!

What do I need to bring

1.5m of fabric

Upon booking, I will email you more details including my favourite places to buy fabric from and which weights, composition I recommend.  If you have some fabric that you have been waiting to use, this might be it!

I understand that you might have a trusted pair of fabric scissors, snip and/ or tape measure, please feel free to bring these with you.  If not, I have everything that you need to create your garment or carry out your alteration.

Where is the workshop?

The workshop will take place at my studio;

Unit 307 Albyn Works,

Burton Road, Sheffield, S3 8BZ

Is there parking?

Yes.

There is limited parking in the courtyard or plenty of on road parking on Burton Road and surrounding roads.  There is a charge of £1.20 per hour for on road parking.

How long is the day?

We will meet at 9:45am.

The shirt workshop will finish around 5pm and the repair workshop around 1pm. Please allow a little more time as the creative process can often take more time than we imagine!

Is lunch included?

Lunch is included with the Shirt workshop.

You will head to Depot Bakery (a brilliant independent bakery which I love to visit) just over the road from the studio.  Here you can enjoy a delicious lunch and hot drink up to the cost of £15pp.

They do a brilliant selection of food catering to most dietary requirements.

Care and Repair workshops won't break for lunch and lunch is not included.

I’d like to come as a group of friends, is this possible?

Yes, although there are typically only three spaces per group, please email me and we can arrange an alternative date if the workshop is already booked or there is a different number of possible participants.

If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
